10 Things You Didn’t Know About Me

Who else finds themselves saying “I can’t believe it’s 2018” a few times during the week? I have no idea how 2017 flew past us, just after it feels like we were saying Happy New Year, but I am excited to see what 2018 has in store for all of us! With so many ideas and things to do, I think this would be an enjoyable time to share a little bit about the person behind the camera! Of course, there are some things you already know, like being a portrait photographer based in New Britain, CT and that I am intrigued by art in all forms it is presented to us in. You also probably know that my full-time job when I am not photographing families is in the corporate world of insurance. You may even know that my zodiac sign is Virgo. But here are some things you may not know about me…

  1. I have 6 tattoos; all of which have a special meaning to me and were not impulsive “let’s go get one right now” moments in my life. Each one was carefully thought about for at least 3-6 months of thinking behind them and the help of Google to see just how much of a different spin I wanted to put on mine. I can honestly say that either the same tattoo artist inked me, or I have gone to the same place to get inked. No reason to step out of my comfort zone 🙂
  2. I don’t drink coffee; I have NEVER EVER tasted it or drank it in my lifetime. Some would say really? Because they need to have at least a cup (or two) to kick-start their day but not me. I am a green tea drinker and prefer that over anything else.
  3. It’s because of my dad that my love for music from the 70’s is what it is. Growing up that is all I remember him playing, whether it was an 8-track, cassette or vinyl record and the music was so soulful and meaningful that I grew to love that more than music from the 90’s and on. Sometimes, I wish that music today was like music from the 70’s but a girl can only wish right?
  4. People who don’t know me always judge me. But when you first get to know me, you will find out I’m the most down-to-earth, caring, loveable person you will ever meet.
  5. I would take a nap every day if I could! I can’t believe that as a child I would constantly fight my parents when it came to nap time. Little did I know that taking a 20 or even 30-minute nap was beneficial to me as a growing child. As an adult whenever I can get time to get in a quick nap, you better believe I am taking advantage of it! I wake up ready to accomplish whatever needs to be done. There have been studies done about this…. it’s science.
  6. I have 12 grandchildren. Yes, you read that right! 12 grandchildren. When I married my husband, I inherited a very big family and I love it!
  7. I am a neat freak. To. THE. MAX. If I have to say who I got this quality from, then it would be my dad. His motto: “A place for everything and everything in its place.” Cleaning can be therapeutic for me; nothing feels better than a clean house! I blast music on my Beats Pill and can go to town sweeping, mopping, re-arranging furniture, scrubbing, and so on.
  8. I have never had a broken bone in my body. NEVER. I’ve gotten two speeding tickets in my driving lifetime. Been to Canada twice, Mexico, California, Puerto Rico, Florida, Texas and while most of these trips have been business related they have given me the opportunity to leave CT for a moment in time.
  9. Soda is my weakness…. Ginger Ale to be exact. As a lifestyle change I let go of soda years ago but every so often you may catch me satisfying a craving by drinking ginger ale more than I should be 🙂
  10. I don’t like crowds that much and I am rather home alone than being in the city with people. If you meet me I’ll probably be outgoing and laughing, but in the end, I love being alone. It’s not that I hate people, but I’ve never liked company of many or places with a lot of people. It’s just the way I am.
  11. BONUS***Last one…my favorite color is purple. If anyone buys me anything and it’s purple, I will love it.
