Something I find myself doing often is looking at the reviews when I am shopping around for something. Whether it is products (washing machine or gas range) or services (landscaper or a plumber), I look to see how they were reviewed. I want to see how much money is being spent and if it is being spent wisely. I know for a fact I am not the only one who does this.
How do the reviews get there? From people like me.
You can rate and review almost anything online now. It helps others make decisions on whether to buy or not. Your voice matters, good, bad or indifferent.
That is exactly what a testimonial is; testimonial = review. It not only is something for the consumer to get to read, but also the person who oversees the products and services. It helps them get better. It helps them understand their weaknesses and strengths. It gives them a chance to improve or continue what they are doing.
Here are a few reasons why this is important.
- It allows the company to receive feedback and improve or continue what they are doing.
- It’s a real person that is giving this review, “not an actor.”
- You are helping the company by telling them the truth.
How can you help get the word out?
- Send the company an email with your review
- Rate it on their social media sites (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, etc.) or comment on a post.
And finally, the biggest one… WORD OF MOUTH!! As a business owner, I am always wanting to know how I am doing. I want to know both the good and the bad. That is the only way I am going to improve my business and make it better for you my clients. I would rather you tell me you hate it so I can stop doing it (or if you love it, I can focus more on it).
